Coverage is about the actual space
Mark the rooms and areas that need a usable connection. Offices, warehouses and retail spaces have different walls, ceilings, shelving and movement patterns.
Capacity is about people and devices
An access point serving a quiet office is not planning for the same load as one serving a busy customer area, meeting room or warehouse work zone.
Every access point needs a wired path
Cable routes, ceiling access, patch-panel space and the switch or rack location should be planned before the access point is mounted.
Use a floor plan instead of a spacing rule
A current plan, device estimates and notes about existing problem areas give the installer a better starting point than placing devices at equal distances.
